i am a texture artist that was involved in the development of honor in vengeance 2, it was a privilege :D

now i'd like to be a part of the community here and be aware of what michael has in store for everyone next, maybe i can lend a hand if i'm needed in the future :P, i hope!

ps. Btw, i managed to learn a bit about shaders after all, i think!

Hey man, it's really great to have you here!!! I'm going to see if I can get Jonny the sound guy to come too and then we'd have most of the development team here :)

I've been super busy here the last few days.... but just in case you didn't see... the Honor in Vengeance II trailer went live on Youtube and was also on the front page of GameTrailers.com the other day! Doing some final touches and hoping to get the game out on the Marketplace sometime between July - September.

Just to tell everyone about this guy.... he jumped in at last minute to finish up some textures for the game. We could have never submitted the game to the Dream. Build. Play competition without him!

We're not a very active board, but our members that do drop in drop by frequently and we're all good friends. Once again, glad to have you here man! :D

wow that's amazing with the trailer! i looked for it in youtube and it was kickass, really satisfying to see the textures in game :D

i hear you about being busy, i got contacted to work on 2 projects now, so i'm juggling gigs, but it should be ok :P

also making an engine for fun! although shaders elude me... my particles look like dots. if you have some experience to share with particle shaders for windows xna i'd definitely appreciate to hear it.

and don't hesitate to contact if you need anything!
i'll be around ;)

Yeah man, the textures look really sharp! :D

Well, I'm not sure what all to tell you exactly.... but I know the key is all about reusing the particles, if you are constantly creating them it will kill your framerate. The shader that I use for particles actually calculates how big the particle should be, the color, velocity etc. all inside the effect file. The actual pixel shader code is like one line I believe.... Really I think the key for success when dealing with particle systems is making sure you are managing them correctly.... and have a good image as well haha. There are some really good XNA samples on the net that will explain in more detail :)

Congrats on the two projects! I'll definitely be in touch man, I was talking to Jonny the sound guy and we both think that we should try to solidify the team that we have now for future projects. Everyone worked very well together!

hey man, what's up again :P

i completed one of my projects, and the other one went sour; the co modeler didn't want me to texture his models, even though i was better at it; and i was willing to let him animate my stuff since he was the better animator; i guess some people want all the thunder for themselves, lol

i gracefully stepped aside; i know their project will hurt without me, their textures and 2d art is terrible

so i wanted to know what you were up to, my completed project just now involved some after effects and production renders, say; how would you feel about me making like a fanmade trailer for Honor in Vengeance 2? i would love to do this to add a bit of publicity to my work and the project in general so it would be done as a hobby for me, get back to me if you think this is a good idea.

Yeah, you'll run into stuff like that a lot doing video games.... but good to hear you got one of them completed! haha.

Well, I'm just adding a bit of polish to the game and then the game will be voted on to be part of the XBLIG Summer Uprising. After entering DBP, I got an email from the guy who is in charge this year asking if I would submit the game.... It'd be a lot of great promotion and a huge honor if we get voted in, so I figured what the heck! If the game is not picked for the Summer Uprising, I'll try to release the game around the third week of July. I feel really good about the game, but over 50 games have been submitted.... so it'll be a challenge I'm sure.

Dude, that's no problem at all! I don't have a problem with any of that kind of stuff. Do you have a 360? If not, I'm hoping to eventally send out a ghetto PC version to the guys involved that don't have a 360 or access to XBLIG. That'd be a good way to get footage if you wanted!

hey sorry for not answering sooner, i replied to your email!

sadly i don't have an xbox360! i was thinking of using 3dmax to render like a cinematic cutscene with the models we have! :P but some gameplay would also be nice to add huh?
i'm fine with you sending me footage, also some voice overs and music would be good to have just in case hah, but if you think it would be best for me to get fraps and record the pc version then great! can't wait to get Hiv 2! (it's fun to say)
though the best method would be probably to use a hauppauge tv recorder or tv stick and plug the xbox onto it like these guys:

i bought the 950Q a couple of years ago and it serves it's purpose well.

hahaha no problem!

A cinematic cutscene would be pretty sweet.... And yeah, it's pretty good fun to go around talking about HiV2! :-XM-: I should probably invest in a recorder like that, I haven't had a huge need to record Xbox footage, but I'm sure I will in the future.

I'll drop you an email in a bit, I just got the one with the updated poly count.
